Huh.
Posted by gnimsh on April 10th, 2007 filed in College Life, LifeSo apparently, a blog needs content and if it doesn’t have it, you won’t have many visitors to your site. This is an important lesson for people like me and Gimpi. I’ve been super busy since spring break ended. So much reading…I’ve had an essay due every week. I’ve been getting through half of most of my readings, sometimes I’ve neglected to do them entirely so I can get my essays done. I can still get through most of my classes with comments on the readings even if I haven’t done them just with prior knowledge, or by skimming the readings before class. Sure this won’t help me when I have to use them for essays (Which I think I’m actually done with for most of my classes now) but it helps to keep that participation grade up.
Right now I’m reading Nietzsche contra Wagner for my German history class. That’s not a hard participation grade since I am one of approximately 6 people who regularly talk out of a class of about 30. Its pretty sweet. I love this class. I thought to myself the other day, I’m actually learning things in this class. And it was fantastic! Like useful things about the German culture. Which reminds me, I should email my German professor and tell him that, he’ll appreciate it. He’s so into the material which is fantastic. I’ve got to write an essay for his class tomorrow and then I should be set for the rest of the semester.
Tomorrow I’ve got a pretty busy schedule. Global studies at 10, then I’m coming back at 11 to drop off my laptop so I don’t have to lug it around the rest of the day, picking up my old Budget uniforms and making lunch, and heading back to the MSA activities fair to see what kind of cool stuff they’ve got going on for Campus to Capitol week. UPCC (University Pro Choice Coalition, of which I’m a member) is also participating so I’ll go see what they’ve got going on too. Then its off to class from 12:20-1:10, and then I have to head on over to my research study, make my contribution to science for the month and catch a bus down to the lightrail station. I’ll be going to the airport so I can hop a ride to the Budget administration office and setting up orientation with the HR manager, as well as filling out an application. Then I have to get my paperwork for a urine sample (drug test), have the shuttle drop me off at the mall of america, and take a bus to another transit center to go out to Edina, where I’ll have to pee in the cup and then go about my business. I hope all of this happens before 5 I don’t wanna get out there and have them be closed on me, especially considering that it all needs to be done in the same day. Which is annoying because it means I’ll have to rush the entire time.
Luckily once I get out I can hop one bus all the way back to my neighborhood and then maybe get on another to go the remaining 5 or 6 blocks, if I don’t feel like walking or if its raining.
Finally, in 9 days I will go back to Syracuse for a 4 day weekend (April 20-22). I’ll go out drinking with Danielle and her friend Kate on Friday night, we’ll come back and have the house all to ourselves (fantastic), which means we can be in a real bed together. That hasn’t happened since spring break lol. I liked what said: “We’ll be back where it all began” because I spent the night at her place the first time we made out/realized we both wanted each other.
Saturday she’ll probably be busy, but if she’s not I’m spending the day with her. Otherwise its off to camp for the day, and back later that night for a double date with her friend and former roommate and her bf. That should be fun too, then we’ll probably get dropped off at her aunt’s house, because she’s dying to meet me and is going to let us borrow her car for Sunday. Sunday I’ll be going to Alfred for a few hours, have lunch w/ my old German prof and see all my friends (I think its even hotdog day weekend…hectic!) I hope I can find a place to park ok.
Then it’ll be home after all that to spend some more time with the fam and later that night I’ll be picking up Danielle from her group work at whatever house they happen to go to so we can spend the night together and she can come to the airport in the morning to see me off.
Soon after that she’ll be going to Japan and I’ll start working. Then she’ll be here again :D
Now, onto the next blog post…not more reading.
